As we dive deeper into Autumn, the days are growing cooler, and the amount of rainy days spent indoors is increasing. While I absolutely love indoor activities such as reading, baking, and watching good movies, it can become dull enjoying all of these activities in the same place all of the time. This year, I have become obsessed with festive decorating projects. They are an entertaining and easy way to liven up the place and make all of the time indoors just a little more enjoyable.
With Christmas right around the corner, I am definitely trying to keep the purse strings tight for these projects. While I accomplish the goal of decor on a budget, I am also looking to preserve the quality of my pieces. I don’t want anything that looks too tacky or cheap, after all! One of my favourite budget-friendly decorations I have in mind are center pieces. Center pieces can brighten up any space, and can be placed in any number of areas: tables, buffets, mantles, bathroom or kitchen counters, etc. They are versatile, easy, and beautiful.
To create a gorgeous Autumn center piece, you don’t need much! You can gather items such as: pumpkins, gourds, nuts, potpourri, burlap ribbon, fake flowers in festive colours (such as sunflowers, carnations, leafy vines) and anything else your heart desires. Find yourself a container such as a basket or a bowl, and assemble your center piece however you desire! You can make as few or as many as you like, and place them anywhere in your house.
These pieces will definitely have your guests asking for your decorators phone number! They are incredibly gorgeous, can be changed up as often as you’d like, and are extremely easy to make. Plus, if you use something such as potpourri, they will smell great and increase the festive vibe in your home. It’s an enjoyable afternoon project to spruce up your living quarters and ward off any cabin fever you may be developing from all that time indoors.
