Crochet Roses

Have you ever wished that flowers would stay in prime condition? It’s great to have fresh flowers about to use for various and sundry projects, but once they begin to wilt, it’s only a matter of time before you have to go through the whole cycle again. We have a solution, however, for keeping pretty flowers around that you can decorate with for decades. This free crochet rose pattern is perfect for adding a bit of delicacy to a hat, bag, sweater, scarf, or even a blanket. They would also make a pretty garland or handmade tags for gifts.

The video tutorial we found is great for stash-busting, as the flowers can be any size you choose. Be sure that your crochet hook is an appropriate size, and start creating flowery accessories. You’ll also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle to weave in the ends. You can make tiny roses to go on a garland necklace, or big roses for a blanket. You can also customize the colors, and choose either beads or buttons for the centers. If you want roses with stems, you can add a crocheted i-cord stem, or a green pipe cleaner, if you prefer.

These roses are perfect for any crocheter, as they are small enough to travel with and can be excellent tools to teach beginner crocheters. The entire pattern consists of only three crochet stitches: chain (ch), single crochet (sc), and double crochet (dc). These should be familiar to every crocheter, but if you’re unfamiliar with the terminology, a quick search online will reward you with plenty of tutorials to help you walk through this pattern.
