This is an easy-level crochet baby blanket that would make a great gift for any new mother or any child! This one is done in pastel and white for a soft look, but you can look at the photo and easily see how you could throw in other colors to make it brighter, more somber, or less bright if you want to go for a slightly different look for your own crochet project!
The colors Barbara Smith used for this crochet blanket are Cream, Lemon, Apricot, Clematis, Sherbet, and Spring Green, just in case you wanted to do the same. She used a 4mm hook, and used star stitches, double stitches, double crochet 2 togethers, 3 togethers, crossed double crochets, and double single crochet stitches to complete this one.
The size of this free crochet blanket pattern is for a blanket approximately 33.5″ x 27.5″, but the great thing about blankets is you can easily adjust it to make it smaller or bigger.
The original pattern, by Barbara Smith, was apparently not kept up (that’s what happens to websites when people don’t want to or can’t afford to pay for servers for their websites!) online, but it was backed up by the Way Back project and is available still here.
