Coffee Cozy Crochet Patterns - Free

That steaming cup of coffee in the morning sure hits the spot – or would if you could pick it up! When your mug or to-go cup is too hot, you need a coffee sleeve. And not the thin cardboard kind. One you can trust to keep your hands pain-free. If you’re a regular coffee or tea drinker with a need for a more permanent coffee sleeve situation, we’ve got you covered with these free patterns.

Cup cozies or sleeves are a quick, easy project with dozens of variations available to suit your needs, whether you’re imbibing at home or on the go. Different stitches add interest and the details are up to you, whether you want to add buttons, beads, or baubles.

One of our favorite patterns is the Basket Weave Coffee Sleeve from Just Be Happy. It was made to fit a 16 oz to-go cup using worsted weight yarn and a size “G” hook (after you chain 30, check and see if it fits your cup. If not, you can go up a hook size).

You’ll need to know the following stitches: chain (ch), slip stitch (sl st), double crochet (dc), fasten off (FO), yarn over (YO), front post double crochet (fpdc) and back post double crochet (bpdc), the last two of which are explained in the pattern with a photo tutorial. The pattern is crocheted in the round.

The Basket Weave Coffee Sleeve pattern can be found on Just Be Happy Life (if you prefer a PDF, it is available as a free download on Ravelry from Just Be Happy – follow the link on their blog).

Make Your Own Shrug Sweater This Weekend (free patterns)

    by on January 8, 2018 - 0 Comments

I’ve been intimidated by clothing patterns for a long time. I’m better at smaller projects, like scarves, hats, or purses. But I’ve always wanted to try making my own sweater. Snuggling into a warm piece of clothing you made yourself sounds divine. Searching through Pinterest, I managed to find several shrug type sweaters for crocheters […]

  • Cute Kerchief Top Crochet (Free Pattern)

You’ll Tank Us For This Cute Kerchief Top Find I’m not typically a summer person. I prefer autumn, when I can bundle up in a sweater and enjoy wearing accessories like beanies, scarves, and gloves. However, over the years I’ve added to the list of what I like about summer. While I dislike the heat, […]

  • Crochet this Farm Playmat (Free Pattern)

Crop Out Cleanup With This Farm Playmat When I was a kid, I played with my brother’s toys as much as my own. I really loved their Legos, Playmobil, and cars. At church we even had a road play mat, and we’d race our cars down the roads, twisting and turning as we imagined where […]

  • Warm Hedgehog Mittens (Free Pattern)

Burrow Into These Warm Hedgehog Mittens There seems to be an explosion of animal wear. Not necessarily leopard print or zebra stripes, but I have seen a lot more outfits and accessories with imitation animals either attached or used in creative ways. I went looking for a glove pattern several weeks ago and somehow stumbled […]

Stick This Fish On Your Head When I found this pattern, I laughed out loud. It’s exactly the kind of thing I love to wear. It makes a statement, it’s silly, and it’s one of those things people will ask you where you got it. Then you can direct them to the free pattern and […]
