Rights

Do I need permission to use The Craft Chair content?

Yes. With the limited exceptions described on this page, all use of The Craft Chair content (text, photographs, graphics, etc.) requires the permission of The Craft Chair. However, this does not mean that we do not want you to benefit from any information on our site, or use it in your own pursuits. Reuse for news purposes has its own rights, which we encourage you to familiarize yourself with. Also, if you have a valid purpose to use our material, just email and tell us about it. We are always willing to cooperate with people who are trying to make something.

When articles or photographs are credited to a source other than The Craft Chair, that credited source holds the rights to the material, and The Craft Chair has obtained the right to reuse that material. Please contact that party directly to obtain rights for any prospective use. When photographs are not marked as belonging to The Craft Chair, whether in the caption or in the properties, they have been obtained from the public domain or are used under a Creative Commons licence.

To request permissions, The Craft Chair [at] gmail.com.

May I use portions of The Craft Chair articles, such as quotes or excerpts? May I edit or adapt The Craft Chair articles?

Under certain circumstances, it is permissible to make direct quotes from The Craft Chair articles. The context, number and length of the quotes will determine whether permission is required. It is never acceptable to selectively quote from articles in a manner that changes their meaning, to take quotes out of context or to combine quotes to create a sentence. It may also be considered infringement if a large percentage of the publication consists of quotes from The Craft Chair articles. It is always best to submit a request for permission by emailing The Craft Chair [at] gmail.com.

Editing and adaptation of The Craft Chair content is generally not permitted, and must be approved by The Craft Chair.

Use of article excerpts is possible with permission from The Craft Chair, without alteration to the intended meaning of the original text.

My question about rights and permissions is not answered here. Where can I send my question?
